Magic sighting at Castaway

Well like a movie star being stalked the Disney Magic drove by the Island to let her guests gawk at the Dream which was docked on the private Island.  This picture was taken by the wife of a peer who has been on this project since 2006.

Dream comparison

This shows the size of the Dream in comparison. Click on the graph from the Orlando Sentinel

The Nimitz-class supercarriers are nuclear-powered aircraft carriers in service with the United States Navy. They are the largest Navy Vessels.  With an overall length of 1,092 ft (333 m) and full-load displacements of over 100,000 tons, the Dream and Allure have them beat for size and souls onboard.

Plaque and keys

Each new city a ship visits brings a plaque and key ceremony. Port Canaveral brought in our new Governor and Senator along with many Disney VIPs. Capt. Mickey and Tom always graciously meet the dignitaries.

Parking at CT8

The parking garage was finally completed and the Dream's guests were allowed to use it first.

Wonder Passing the Dream on the way to California.

  VIDEOS

We moved to Cruise Terminal 3&4 to let the Wonder come in for the last time. The Dream is taking over the 3-4 day cruises which lets the Wonder move to do the Disneland-Pacific Ocean runs. As the Wonder left for California the two ships traded horn blasts. The Wonder's guests were lined up on her decks while Dream's crew greeted her with streamers and a lot of cheers. Whenever two sister ships are together there is always fanfare and goose bumps.

Last full day

January 3rd 2011 and we are heading back to Castaway. I need to calculate the total numbers, but it is safe to say I have been traveling since late October. November 28 was the last "fresh" suitcase so my selection of clothes has been reused many times.
Orlando sentinel has a comparison chart and story about the Dream so excitement is brewing in O-town. I too am anticipating my own bed, high speed internet and a bike ride.

Dream at night Port Nassau

Please excuse brevity and typos as this message was composed on my mobile device.

arrival Nassau Bahamas

Today we arrive is Nassau which will be the only regular port the Dream will call on once she starts her 3-4 day cruises.
The captain and team guide her to the berth aft in first. There is a crew member full aft providing distance to dock measurements.

Once we find the correct spot to tie up, Nassau authorities will paint a location marker for future tie ups.

Dream meets Magic

The start of the Epic horn war.  It was a moving event for the sister ship of the Dream to come into view.  I am sure the paying guests were just as anxious to see us approaching.  Many tears were shed and like I said the horn war was Epic.
